DrySnap Materials Calculator

The DrySnap materials calculator was created to be a useful tool to help estimate the components needed for DrySnap projects. While this tool is typically accurate, there may be some variance between the estimated results and the exact quantities needed (especially for irregularly shaped areas). It is ultimately the responsibility of the installer to determine and order the appropriate
amount of materials for the job.

TO ESTIMATE DRYSNAP MATERIALS FOR A JOB, SIMPLY FILL IN ALL (3) REQUIRED FIELDS FOR EACH APPLICABLE SECTION OF THE DECK.

From ledger wall to outer beam is one section. If there are multiple sections, calculate each section separately. Enter cantilever area separately.

** NOTES:
1) This materials estimator based on traditional square decks.

2) This materials estimator is based on joists spaced 16" on center.
Variation of joists spacing will directly effect the number of pitch spacers and deck screws that will be required.
For joists spaced 12" on center, multiply the total number of pitch spacers and deck screws estimated by: x 1.2
DrySnap product testing was done on joists spaced 16" on center. We recommend that this system be installed with a maximum joist spacing of 16" on center. If users intend to install on joists exceeding this spacing, furring strips should be applied perpendicular to joists and spacing of pitch spacers should not exceed 16" on center.

3) This materials estimator uses a 50/50 ratio of 2 1/2" and 3" as an example.
Depending on the total number of rows & spacers/row, you should use your own discretion for proper screw sizing. Spans exceeding 14' will require a longer screw then we currently offer, for these instances use 3-1/2" or 4" deck screws not provided.

4) Items needed but not included in this material estimate: Gutter System, Finishing Trim for Exposed Sides, Flashing, Caulk.

5) The DrySnap system is designed to collect and drain the water falling within the length of the panel.
DrySnap is not guaranteed to be 100% watertight. If that is the desired result, or for full room enclosures and the area above the beam, additional steps may be needed.
